Electronics Corporation of India Limited has bagged the prestigious IEWS contract for supply of COM segment systems to ministry of defense from Bharat Electronics Limited, Hyderabad. The total contract value is approximately 980 crore.
The project provides a significant leap in developing indigenous capabilities towards achieving self-reliance in electronic warfare systems for the defense sector, ECIL said on Saturday.
This will be executed in collaboration with BEL as prime production agency and DLRL as the design agency. ECIL along with BEL and DLRL had undertaken the technology capability demonstration for this system.
“Over the past three decades, ECIL has developed a large number of technologies which are in use by the defense forces,” officials said.
It may be mentioned here that the MoD signed a contract with BEL on March 24, 2023, for procurement of two IEWS called ‘Project Himshakti’ at an overall cost of 3,000 crore.
